No matter what trend forecasts say, there’s always one clothing item that will remain a wardrobe staple: the classic white tee. It’s the most basic of building blocks for so many outfits, which makes a white T-shirt a worthy investment.
I’ve recently fallen in love with white T-shirts and how versatile they are! When in doubt, I simply throw on a white tee, jeans, and a belt and get out the door feeling effortlessly stylish.
I’m so excited to partner with The Classic T-Shirt Company to share three of my favorite ways to style a white tee!

About The Classic T-Shirt Company
The Classic T-Shirt Company makes ethical and sustainable luxury t-shirts that outlast trends. I love that this brand is not only committed to fair labor and responsible environmental practices, but also high quality, durability, transparent pricing.
- Ethically made in the USA: The tees are made in a Los Angeles factory that guarantees fair wages, reasonable hours, and excellent working conditions.
- Sustainable: The shirts are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, which means that no harmful pesticides or fertilizers are used. The dyeing process is also environmentally friendly, avoiding toxic chemicals. Tees are shipped out with recycled packaging.
- Long-lasting: The fabric is put through multiple shrink tests and each shirt is garment-washed so that the shirts retain their size and shape with each wash.
- Giving back: The brand has pledged 1% of their equity, profits, and time to causes they believe in, including safe water, tree planting, and ocean cleanup. With each order, you can choose one of these causes to donate to!
With the myriad of ways to style a simple white tee, I think it’s well worth the investment to buy a high-quality T-shirt you’ll love wearing. My short-sleeve crewneck tee from The Classic T-Shirt Company is super soft and smooth and drapes just right. I love that it’s not too thin or see-through!
3 Ways to Style a White T-Shirt
1. T-Shirt & Jeans
Pairing a white tee with jeans is a no-brainer, but some simple touches can elevate this basic look into a stylish one. I like to tuck my tees into high-waisted jeans to give my waist more shape and balance out my proportions so I look taller. Adding a belt and a simple pendant necklace pulls the whole look together. Choose a pair of statement hoops, block heels, and a red lip for a dressier look or dainty minimal earrings, sneakers, and natural makeup for a casual look.
In this look, I’m pairing my tee with high-waisted, wide-leg jeans and adding a classic black belt, simple black crossbody bag, and strappy kitten heels to dress up the outfit.
2. 90’s Kid/VSCO Girl
Channel your inner 90’s kid by layering a dress or tank top over a white tee. I love this styling trick for the transitional weather of summer to fall. It’s an easy way to keep wearing your summer faves for longer (I know I’m not the only one with way more summer clothes than I actually wear during those three short months).
In this look, I’m styling one of my favorite summer dresses for this funky transitional weather by layering a white tee underneath. I’m pairing it with white sneakers and socks to complete the VSCO girl vibe.
3. Knot Your Average Crop Top
As a short gal, crop tops are my best friend. Tying the bottom of a tee into a knot is an easy way to crop your tee without taking a pair of scissors to it. If your shirt isn’t big enough to make a knot, you can achieve the same look with a hair tie. I love pairing a knotted tee with a long skirt and sneakers for a feminine look, or bike shorts for a more casual streetwear look.
In this look, I gathered the hem of my tee in front and knotted it with a hair tie, then tucked the knot underneath the tee. I’m wearing a swishy floral midi skirt with sneakers.
There are so many ways to style a white tee that this doesn’t even cover the half of it! I hope this inspires you to get creative and play with T-shirts already in your closet, or invest in a quality tee that’ll be the most versatile item in your wardrobe.
